Skoda Elroq Review 2025

Skoda Elroq Review 2025

Buckle up, folks! The automotive world has a zippy new contender that's turning heads and charging ahead - literally. Enter the Skoda Elroq, Skoda's latest foray into the electric SUV arena. This new model promises to blend style, practicality, and eco-friendliness into one electrifying package. But sets it apart from competitors like the Kia EV3 and Hyundai Kona Electric? In this Skoda Elroq review, GB Vehicle Leasing explores its features to see if it delivers excitement.

Skoda Elroq Exterior & Dimensions

From the first glance, the Skoda Elroq looks like a stylish, modern electric SUV. It’s not trying too hard with flashy gimmicks - oh no, the Elroq knows it’s handsome and refined with narrow headlights to the front. The lower bumper is subtly aggressive, giving the car a sporty yet sophisticated look. This isn't the kind of car that shouts for attention, but it absolutely gets it.

From the side, things stay sleek as its subtly coupe-inspired silhouette gives the SUV a sporty appearance while still preserving ample interior headroom. Wheel sizes range from 19 to 21”, and depending on the trim level you go for, you’ll get distinctive alloys that enhance its dynamic presence. As well, the underbody is smoothed out, the rear features a roof spoiler, and the whole shape is honed for low resistance and high style.

The Skoda Elroq measures 4,488mm in length, 1,841mm wide (excluding mirrors), and 1,615mm tall. The Skoda Elroq is a bit bigger than the Kia EV3, with greater length and a longer wheelbase that provide more interior room. Within Skoda’s lineup, the Elroq is slightly smaller than the Enyaq in overall dimensions. In short, the Skoda Elroq SUV looks sharp, feels modern, and fits just right in the UK’s narrow lanes and tight parking spots - without ever feeling small.

Skoda Elroq Interior & Tech

Step inside the Skoda Elroq, and you’re welcomed into a cabin that feels like it belongs in a car twice the price. Skoda has nailed the balance between functionality, comfort, and modern tech. The first thing that grabs your attention is the 13” central infotainment touchscreen. It’s your control hub for navigation, media, vehicle settings, and climate control. Responsive and logically laid out, it doesn’t overwhelm with menus or bury simple tasks like turning on the heated seats. for those who love to keep their eyes on the road, the optional augmented reality head-up display projects key details like speed, directions, and warnings, right into your field of vision.

In front of the driver sits a tidy 5” digital instrument cluster, keeping things minimal but informative. Want more info? A customisable layout lets you tailor what’s displayed. It’s also compatible with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, naturally. Additionally, material quality is impressively high across the board and ambient lighting bathes the interior in soft hues. If you opt for higher trims, you also get features like privacy glass, keyless entry with walk away locking and dark chrome roof rails.

What truly sets the Elroq apart is how it’s designed around everyday life. Skoda’s famous “Simply Clever” features are in full swing here: you’ve got an umbrella neatly stored in the driver’s door, rear cupholders and manual sunblinds for the rear windows. There’s also charging cable storage just for your charging cables. Details matter, and Skoda’s paid attention in the Elroq SUV.

Skoda Elroq Boot Space & Practicality

If there’s one thing Skoda consistently gets right, it’s practicality - and the Elroq is no exception. This all-electric family car makes seriously clever use of its space. First, you get a generous 470 litres of boot space with the rear seats up, which is more than enough for the weekly shop, a pram, or luggage for a family weekend away. Fold the 60:40 split rear seats, and the boot space expands to 1,580 litres - roomy enough to carry bikes, flat-pack furniture. This outshines the boot space in many rivals like the Kia EV3 and Volvo EX30, offering more usable space for everyday tasks. One of our favourite touches? A dedicated space for the charging cables - no more wrangling wires.

Up front, there’s a spacious centre console with dual cup holders, and an open cubby that’s perfect for your keys, wallet, etc. Rear passengers aren’t left out either - thanks to the flat EV floor, there’s extra legroom and loads of foot space under the front seats. Isofix mounting points are standard on the rear seats - and even included on the front passenger seat. All in all, the Skoda Elroq is a masterclass in practical design, full of those little touches that make everyday life just a bit easier.

Skoda Elroq Range, Charging & Performance

The Skoda Elroq doesn’t just look the part of a modern electric SUV - it delivers on performance and efficiency too. Whether you're an urban errand-runner or a weekend road tripper, there’s an Elroq with your name on it. There are three battery sizes ranging from 55kWh to 82kWh, paired with power outputs between 125kW and 210kW. The base Elroq 50 model comes equipped with a 55kWh battery and a single motor driving the rear wheels. It offers a WLTP range of around 232 miles, making it ideal for city dwellers and short to mid-range users.

Stepping up, the Skoda Elroq 60 version comes with a slightly larger 63kWh battery and a range of up to 265 miles. The big hitter of the bunch, the Elroq 85, packs an 82kWh battery, delivering a maximum range of around 360 miles on a full charge. With 175kW DC charging capability, this model charges from 10–80% in about 28 minutes, keeping you on the move with minimal downtime. All-wheel drive is only available with the 82kWh battery variant.

No matter which version you choose, this Skoda SUV delivers a smooth, refined driving experience. The low centre of gravity helps the electric SUV feel stable and composed in corners, while the instant torque makes acceleration feel lively. Whether you’re cruising down the motorway or navigating tight urban streets, the Elroq balances performance and efficiency like a pro.

Exciting news for performance fans – the Skoda Elroq vRS has been revealed and is available to order June 2025 (approx.). With 340hp, this powerful Skoda has a 0-62mph time of just 5.4 seconds. Its set to be a strong contender against the Hyundai Ioniq 5 N. Priced from £46,560, key features of the Skoda Elroq vRS include its four-wheel drive, vRS badging, a claimed 340 miles range and the availability of a Hyper Green paint finish. Drawing from Skoda’s vRS legacy, it promises to deliver impressive electric performance, bold styling, and enhanced handling.

Skoda Elroq Safety & Reliability

Safety isn't an afterthought with the Skoda Elroq EV as it’s built from a solid, crash-tested architecture. This gives the Elroq a strong foundation for both passive and active safety systems, making it a reassuring choice for families, commuters, and anyone who values peace of mind on the road.

So far, it’s early days for this Skoda SUV and so it hasn't been tested by Euro NCAP (as of May 2025). But we expect it will get a full five-star Euro NCAP safety rating when tested, thanks to a suite of high-tech safety features that come standard across the range. These include various airbags throughout, lane assist, a rear view camera and crew protect assist, just to mention a few. If you opt for a higher trim, these also come with features like emergency assist, lane assist plus with narrow lane assist, rear side airbags and adaptive cruise control with traffic jam assist.

As for reliability, Skoda has a well-earned reputation for building durable, dependable cars, and the Elroq is expected to uphold that tradition. Its electric drivetrain has fewer moving parts than a traditional combustion engine, reducing wear and maintenance needs over time. The Elroq is built for the long haul - safe, strong, and smart.

Skoda Elroq UK BIK Tax & Insurance

For company car drivers, the Skoda Elroq SUV is a very attractive option thanks to its low Benefit-in-Kind (BIK) tax rate. Whether you’re a business owner or an employee, switching to the Elroq could be a smart move financially.

When it comes to insurance, the Elroq falls into groups 22E to 34E, depending on the trim level, battery size, and power output.
