Most reliable car brands according to survey

When looking at a new car, many customers are drawn towards a certain brand for various factors. In particular, drivers want a reliable car which should remain dependable for many years.

With this in mind, here's the 2022 What Car? Reliability Survey results. This annual survey with 25,000 participants takes a look at dependability of cars aged up to five years old. Here are the top 10 results this year for reliability by brand.

10. Dacia – 94.4%

In at number 10, Dacia has been around since 1966 but was later taken over by Renault in 1999. With the aim to produce reliable and affordable vehicles, it appears this automaker is growing from strength to strength. Today, the Dacia car range remains affordable with a selection of award-winning models. In particular, the Dacia Duster is an affordable SUV and was recognised as a reliable car with a score of 95.4%. Key features include blind spot warning, Multiview camera, auto air conditioning and hill start assist, although not all comes as standard across all specs. 9. MG – 95.0%

In 9th place is MG Motor UK, an iconic Automotive Company known for producing reliable cars which represent value for money. The history of MG cars dates back to the 1920’s, with the earliest model being the 1924 MG 14/28. Since then, MG has developed a small, yet successful range of MG cars and the brand continues to grow. If you’re looking for an affordable hatchback, the MG3 is worth considering. 7. Kia – 95.5%

Recognised as one of the fastest-growing brands within the UK, in 7th place this year is Kia. As a brand, Kia has a strong focus on producing reliable, practical vehicles. Since then, Lexus has become a recognised brand of its own and continues to expand. With five Lexus models included in this survey, each were recognised for dependability with a score of at least 96%.
