Toyota has released a new facelifted Toyota Hilux which offers a substantial facelift from the previous-generation model. The Hilux is a versatile pick-up truck, although it has several tough rivals in this sector, including the Nissan Navara, Ford Ranger and Mitsubishi L200.
The new facelifted Toyota Hilux offers a new 2.8 litre engine for top-spec models, as well as refreshed styling and improved comfort. It’s on sale with prices starting from £22,466 for the entry-level model. Standard kit on the entry-level model includes 17-inch wheels, a CD player, air-conditioning, Bluetooth connectivity, automatic headlights and rear differential lock. In terms of driver assistance systems, it has lane departure warning, road sign assist and adaptive cruise control.
At the top of the range, the Invincible X model is generously equipped. Features include an exclusive grille and front bumper, specific door handles, 18-inch alloy wheels and a nine-speaker JBL sound system, just to mention a few. This model is priced from £32,533. Of course, these prices exclude VAT at 20%, because the Hilux, just like pick-up truck rivals with a one-tonne payload capability, is classed as a commercial vehicle. As before, the new Hilux is available in a choice of single cab, double cab and extra cab body styles depending on which model you go for. Also, it has a one tonne payload and 3.5 tonne towing capacity, regardless of which model you opt for. These figures pretty much match the payload and towing capacity for the Mitsubishi L200.
