Top 5 SUVs 2020
1. Volvo XC40
Firstly, this well-built, compact SUV has been excelling in its segment, receiving numerous awards since launch, including European Car of the Year 2018. Also, as expected with a Volvo car, the XC40 comes with exceptional safety and driver assist features which particularly makes it an appealing family car. These features include Volvo Cars’ Pilot Assist system, Cross Traffic alert with brake support and the 360-degree camera, just to mention a few.
In terms of the interior, we think the Volvo XC40 is beautifully designed and clever storage space is an excellent addition. The 430 litres boot space is slightly smaller than rival SUVs, however, it’s still a spacious 5-seater. As for the infotainment system, stay connected and enjoy a pleasant journey as this model is fully compatible with Android Auto™ and Apple CarPlay.
The XC40 is available in a range of efficient engine options. If you’re looking for a greener from of transport but don’t think a full electric car is right for you, then both mild-hybrid options and the XC40 Recharge plug-in hybrid option are available. Furthermore, order books for the all-electric Volvo XC40 Recharge P8 are now open in the UK, with first deliveries expected in 2021. This comes as part of Volvo's commitment to offer electrified options for all Volvo cars launched from 2019. Diesel and petrol options for this model remain available.
2. Kia e-Niro
Another of our favourite SUVs is the all-new Kia e-Niro, starting from £34,495 (After Plug in Car Grant). This delightful electric mid-size SUV combines phenomenal range, competitive pricing and excellent styling. Achieving 2019 What Car? Car of The Year Award, the e-Niro is proving to be strong competition for its rivals. At GB Vehicle Leasing, we think the e-Niro particularly stands out for its highly competitive pricing and its ability to provide up to 282 miles on a single charge. There’s no need to worry when the charge runs out as recharge is easy and fast. Click here for useful information regarding the cost of charging a Kia e-Niro 64kWh by Pod Point, a UK leader in electric vehicle charging.
Furthermore, this car is designed for an excellent driving experience. Features such as Lane Following Assist and Smart Cruise Control with Stop & Go makes the e-Niro an excellent EV to drive. In particular, we like the Electronic Parking Brake which is easy to use and convenient when parking your car. It's clear that safety has been well thought through with the e-Niro and this might especially appeal as an option for an electric family car. Also, as with all Kia models, the e-Niro is covered by a 7-year/100-mile manufacturer’s car warranty. Could this potentially be your new electric car? Kia even has a Niro Self Charging Hybrid car option.

A wide range of technically advanced features help to keep you safe and entertained throughout your journey. During 2017 testing, the superb F-Pace achieved a five-star Euro NCAP rating, which included an excellent score of 93 per cent in its adult occupancy NCAP assessment. Safety and driver assist features such as Lane Keep Assist, Front and Rear Parking Aid and 3D Surround Camera, makes it one of the stand-out contenders in this corner of the SUV market.
