With this in mind, here's the Driver Power 2021 customer satisfaction survey results for this year. This survey takes a look at what owners think about their car, and ranks them based on customer satisfaction. The Driver Power survey has identified the top 75 best cars to own in the UK, and here are the top 10.
10. SEAT Ateca
Taking 10th place this year is the SEAT Ateca, which owners particularly classed as excellent value for money. This is a practical SUV which especially appeals to families. This SEAT has been refined to offer a new design and more advanced technology which is easy to use. We think this is a stylish car which proves strong competition in its segment. Also, the SEAT Ateca gets praised for its strong fuel efficiency and quality infotainment system. However, drivers have reported that the ride quality and comfort could be better.
In 9th place is the Kia Sportage - a premium-looking, family SUV with an affordable price tag. This popular Kia car offers a decent level of standard equipment and a practical interior, making it stiff competition for the Nissan Qashqai and Hyundai Tucson. Owners of the Sportage highly rate its infotainment system and reliability. Also, they feel it's good to drive and represents great value for money. This Kia ranked 3 places higher than last year, pushing it into the top 10. If you’re looking for a sportier option, then a Gt-Line or GT-Line S version would appeal to you.
Taking 8th place is Volvo's smallest SUV model, the Volvo XC40. In terms of the interior, we think the XC40 is beautifully designed and ingenious storage space is an excellent addition. As expected with a Volvo car, this car scored highly for its safety features, as well as practicality. However, owners felt the XC40 could offer better value for money and fuel efficiency. That said, this well-built compact SUV is very comfortable to ride in, making it a great all-rounder car. The 430 litres boot space is slightly smaller than rival SUVs such as the Mercedes-Benz GLA, however, it’s still a spacious 5-seater.
7.Vauxhall Grandland X
Looking for a family-friendly SUV? Well, first launched in 2017, the Vauxhall Grandland X is Vauxhall’s biggest SUV. With five seats and a generous boot size, this Vauxhall takes 7th place in the Driver Power survey. Owners of the Grandland X praised its excellent infotainment system and build quality. Plus, the comfortable front seats and practicality allow for a super ride. As an alternative to the Hyundai Tucson, this Vauxhall is rated highly for its affordable running costs thanks to its engines. If you’re looking for an easy to drive SUV with a high driving position and supreme safety, then the Vauxhall Grandland X could be ideal for you.
The award-winning Skoda Kodiaq is a large SUV car, perfect for large families. An alternative to the Peugeot 5008, this Skoda has plenty of interior storage compartments and a class-leading boot capacity. According to owners, the Kodiaq is highly reliable and has a great build quality. Plus, it scored strong for its safety features. During testing, this Skoda achieved a Euro NCAP Safety Rating of 5 stars, including an impressive score of 92 per cent in its adult occupancy NCAP assessment. However, owners of the Kodiaq felt it could be more fuel efficient and we’re still currently awaiting an electrified version of this Skoda model.
Another Skoda car has made it into the top 10! This mid-sized SUV takes 5th place above its bigger sibling. Since its launched, the Skoda Karoq has built a strong reputation in the SUV market and is particularly ideal as a family car. In fact, the Skoda Karoq has been awarded What Car? 2021 Best family SUV for practicality. Also, according to owners of the Karoq, their cars are economical, reliable and practical. Also, they like the interior of the Skoda Karoq as it has a large boot and plenty of storage space. Plus, there's an abundance of safety features available with this car which are easy to use.
In 4th place is the Toyota C-HR. This funky crossover SUV has a dynamic design and high quality materials used throughout. According to owners, the Toyota C-HR offers an excellent ride quality and handling. Plus, they like the stylish and comfortable interior thanks to the solid build quality. However, the rear passenger space in the C-HR has compact seats and limited legroom. Also, owners feel the interior storage space could be better. Taking 1st place this year is the Hyundai Kona which is available with a good range of efficient engine options, including fully-electric. The Hyundai Kona is a small SUV sized below its sibling, the Hyundai Tucson. With an athletic look and Hyundai’s cutting-edge technology, we feel the Kona appeals to a wide audience as an alternative to the Peugeot 2008. According to owners, the Kona offers great handling and ride quality. Also, they feel it has a strong build quality, excellent safety features and represents good value for money. Generally, owners of this Hyundai model are very happy with their car and feel it's fuel efficient.
