1.Renault Zoe
The Renault Zoe is a small electric car which offers value for money and an excellent electric range. Rivaling the likes of the new Honda e, we feel the Renault Zoe is a great little run around car. In terms of range, this electric car can provide up to 245 miles on a full charge (WLTP). This is a greater range in comparison to both the new Honda e and Peugeot e-208.
Furthermore, the Renault Zoe is an extremely easy car to drive. Some of the key features available on this electric car include parking sensors, automatic climate control and land keep assist, although features vary depending on the version you choose. There’s no denying this isn’t the roomiest of electric cars, but it does offer a smooth drive and low running costs.

2. Peugeot e-208
The award-winning Peugeot e-208 is an impressive small electric car. Available in the same trim levels as the regular Peugeot 208, this electric car can provide up to 217 miles on a full charge (WLTP). Also, like the Corsa-e, the Peugeot e-208 can recharge up to 80% in 30 minutes from a 100kW rapid charging station!
Furthermore, the Peugeot e-208 is stylish and has a distinctive design. Pricing for this Peugeot electric car starts from around £27,225 (inc. OLEV grant). Standard features on all versions includes the Distance Alert System, push button start and DAB radio, just to mention a few. For a sportier version, you might want to consider leasing the GT versions. Pricing for the Peugeot e-208 GT version starts from just over £30,000 (inc. OLEV grant) and comes with blind spot monitoring, front heated seats and Peugeot Smartbeam Assistance.

3.Vauxhall Corsa-e
The Vauxhall Corsa-e is a battery electric version of Vauxhall’s flagship model. For the environmentally conscious, the new Vauxhall Corsa-e is a great lease option. This electric car has a decent range and excellent styling, outshining other affordable electric cars. In fact, the Corsa-e has a range of up to 209 miles which is greater than the MINI Electric range. As for charging time, this Vauxhall can achieve up to 80% charge in 30 minutes using a 100kW public charger.
The Vauxhall Corsa-e is easy to drive and quite similar to the Peugeot e-208. This electric car looks smart externally and comes well equipped. Although, you might be disappointed with the limited space for passengers in the back.

4.Nissan Leaf
The Nissan Leaf is a fully electric hatchback which offers affordability, style and a decent range. Enjoy a fun ride in this Nissan electric car thanks to the roomy interior and latest Intelligent Driving technologies available. In terms of electric range, it's reported the Nissan Leaf provides a range of up to 168 miles for one full charge. For longer commuting, the Leaf E+ has a larger, power-enhanced battery and can provide up to 239 miles of range.
Furthermore, charging the Nissan Leaf is quick and easy. Although, as with any electric car, it’s important to note that charging times can vary depending on various factors. Pricing for the fantastic Nissan Leaf starts from £25,995, making it an affordable electric car.

5.Honda e
The new Honda e recently joined Honda’s model line-up as the company’s first all-electric urban car. In particular this electric Honda has a unique design with futuristic technology, making it stand out from rivals. This includes sleek pop-out door handles for a clean and modern look. As for the Honda e interior, Honda has decided to keep it minimalistic, yet modern. High quality materials have been used throughout, giving this electric car a slightly smarter feel than the Peugeot e-208.
This Honda electric car is available in two power outputs and can comfortably accommodate up to 4 occupants. As for driving range, the Honda e has a range of up to 137 miles. Pricing for the new Honda e starts from £28,215 (inc. plug-in car grant) and it’s available in two trim levels – either the e or e Advance.

6.Smart EQ Fortwo
The Smart EQ Fortwo is a two-seater city car, ideal for pottering around town.The Smart Fortwo model has been around since 1998, however since 2020 this car has only been available in electric EQ form. Size wise, the Smart EQ Fortwo is slightly smaller in size than the Fiat 500 Electric. There’s no denying that this electric Smart car is compact, but this helps to make parking easy and personalisation options are good. Also, for a car of this size, the 260-litre boot space is pretty good. As for design, we feel the dynamic headlamps and bold front grille of the Smart EQ Fortwo Cabrio makes it look stylish.
