Mercedes-Benz EQC Review
The new Mercedes-Benz EQC is part of Mercedes’ growing line of electric EQ models. This all-electric SUV is bigger in size than the new Mercedes EQA and rivals both the Audi e-tron and Jaguar I-Pace. Read our Mercedes EQC review to find out what makes this Mercedes' stand out from its rivals in the EV market.
Mercedes EQC performance & range
One of the main factors that motorists consider when choosing an electric car is the charge range. Well, one full charge of the Mercedes EQC is reported to provide a decent range up to 255 miles on the WLTP cycle. This is slightly greater than the charge range of up to 249 miles (WLTP) for the Audi E-tron. Also, the Mercedes EQC can reach 10-80% charge using public rapid charging (110kW charger) in just 40 minutes! Either charge at home or use a public rapid charger which will provide a healthy boost in the time it takes to buy a coffee. For optimum charging at home, installation of an AC wallbox is advised. If you do opt to have a dedicated charging point installed, make sure it is carried out by a qualified installer.
Why choose the Mercedes EQC?
Well, the Mercedes EQC is well-built and offers the high quality expected from a Mercedes car. In terms of the interior, the EQC has a premium finish and offers a smooth and comfortable drive. Features such as the MBUX multimedia system, smartphone integration and voice control are definitely highlights of this electric car. Furthermore, the Mercedes EQC has a decent 500-litre boot capacity, although it isn’t quite as big as its rivals.
The Mercedes-Benz EQC has an array of excellent features available to help make your journey as pleasant and safe as possible, although not all come as standard. For added safety, you could opt to include the Driving Assistance package. Some of the main features in this package include Active Steering Assist, Active Brake Assist and Active Speed Limit Assist. During independent crash-testing, this Mercedes model achieved a full Euro NCAP Safety Rating of five stars, which included an impressive score of 96 per cent in its adult occupancy NCAP assessment.
From its distinctive design to the high quality materials throughout, this is unmistakably a Mercedes-Benz car. Offering a striking presence on the road thanks to a sophisticated design and the latest Mercedes technology, this EV is generating huge interest. According to carsalesbase.com, despite the pandemic, over 14,000 of this Mercedes car were sold in Europe during 2020. This meant more sales of the EQC than the Jaguar I-Pace in Europe last year.
Mercedes EQC trims

Our Verdict
The Mercedes EQC is a fantastic electric car which combines the height of an SUV with the modern design and features of an electric car. We feel this Mercedes car deserves a rating of 4.3/5 stars from GB Vehicle Leasing. In particular, we think the Mercedes EQC’s spacious interior and practicality will appeal to families. However, if you would prefer an electric SUV with a longer range up to 292 miles (WLTP), then you might consider leasing the Jaguar I-Pace instead.
