Driver Power Survey 2020
Each year, the Driver Power Customer Satisfaction Survey is conducted in order to rank the best cars to buy for that particular year. There are nine judging categories which are used to decide the final rating score for each car. The percentage given is the average of a car’s scores which then defines its chart position. Below are the top-rated cars from this survey which shows the car percentage rating and key points for each car.
1.Kia Sorento (92.05%)
Taking the top position in 2020 is the Kia Sorento. This SUV is both spacious and practical, making it the ideal family car with seven seats as standard. Despite the high fuel consumption, drivers seem to like the comfortable and spacious interior, as well as the smooth ride quailty of this car. Furthermore, it has easy-to-use controls and decent smartphone connectivity which appeals to many drivers.
2. Peugeot 3008 (92.04%)
Following closely in second place is the Peugeot 3008 as a mid-sized SUV. Drivers particularly liked the superb quality and exterior styling of this car. Also, the car’s strong reliability, generous boot space and child-friendly features make this a fantastic option as a family car. An award winning SUV which has won over 65 international awards so far since launch. Available in diesel, petrol or plug-in hybrid engines.
3. Lexus RX (91.98%)
This excellent car was rated highly reliable and practical. Owners of the RX particularly like the spacious feel and generous boot size. However, they felt disappointed with the high running costs for this car. If you require a seven-seater car, then you could opt for the Lexus RX L Hybrid which offers a smooth and quiet drive. A high level of standard equipment is available on this car.
4. Kia Niro (91.82%)
The Kia Niro has jumped up six places from 2019 as it receives fourth place this year. Owners particularly like the low running costs of the Niro and its infotainment system. Drivers who opted for the all-electric Niro were generally impressed with the range and good ride quality. If you're looking for a reasonably priced SUV with excellent safety tech, then this might be the ideal car for you.
5. Mazda CX-5 (91.75%)
Owners of the Madza CX-5 particularly like the exterior styling and high-quality. Servicing costs are considered a little pricey for this car, however fuel economy is better. Both the rear legroom and boot size are generous which is excellent for a mid-size family SUV. Also, the new 2020 Mazda CX-5 has many useful safety features such as blind-spot monitors, lane departure warning system and Lane-Keep Assist.
