Test Driving The New Land Rover Defender
An iconic off-roader has been reborn as the new 2020 Land Rover Defender is available to order. That said, at GB Vehicle Leasing, we have been eager to test drive this fantastic motor, and our moment finally came. Read on to find out what we thought of it.
The new Defender maintains the rugged original look of the old one, whilst adding a modern twist. This practical SUV has all the off-road and towing ability you could want from a car like this. Arguably one of the best 4x4 cars, the new Defender is very spacious, with options for a 5,6 or even 7 seater depending on the model you choose. Like the old Defender, these are badged '90' and '110' respectively. Also, most versions have a 3,500kg maximum towing limit and there's ample leg room space inside this 4x4.
Interior & Technology
This new Defender has definitely been brought into the 21st century with excellent on-board tech and features. In particular, we like that there’s a wide range of options and accessories available if you’re looking to personalise your new Defender. Standard features for the Defender includes LED headlights, 18-inch alloy wheels, heated seats and a 10-inch touchscreen central media unit. However, opt for the mid-spec SE cars or above to get the ClearSight rear view mirror. Explore ultimate prsonalisation when configurating your car, along with four accessory packs to choose from. As with all Land Rovers, the Defender has a high quality, luxurious feel to the interior. This allows for a comfortable and pleasant drive, no matter where your journey takes you.
Our Verdict
Overall, we think this 4x4 is exceptional and deserves a rating of 4.6/5 stars. It is expensive to buy, however if you're looking for a practical off-roader, this could be ideal for you. Also, there is a plug-in hybrid option available as well if you would prefer. Do you think the new Defender sounds like your ideal car? If it does, call us today for more information about leasing it! We'd be happy to answer any questions you have and talk through the options available to you.
