Review: The New Porsche Taycan
Porsche’s first full-electric sports car, The Taycan is bursting with futuristic elements. The name “Taycan” translates to “lively young horse” which we think is perfect for this powerful and performance-oriented car. With prices starting from £83,367.00 (incl.VAT), orders are open now.
We think the Taycan looks spectacular and is likely to become a popular option for customers looking to own an electric car. In particular we like the design of this new car, as it offers the high quality and look of a traditional Porsche whilst appealing to the increasing demand for electric cars. The Taycan takes the form of a luxurious four-door saloon but it also incorporates coupe design cues. Highlights of the exterior include four-point LED headlights, the lateral air intakes and two roof options - one contoured from light aluminium, the other fashioned from panoramic glass. Meanwhile, the interior features a fantastic 16.8-inch curved digital screen, advanced climate control, as well as front and rear luggage compartments. A 8.4-inch centre console control panel
enables access to navigation, media, telephone and much more. A variety of personalisation options are also available for the exterior and interior of the car.
Performance & Range
Our excitement for this car continues when we look at the performance and range capacity available. The Taycan is stylish, sporty and extremely rapid. It’s reported that the Taycan Turbo S can achieve 0-62mph in as little as 2.8 seconds and has a top speed of 161mph! These figures are very impressive! Furthermore, the electric performance of the Taycan is superb as it can achieve up to 62 mile (WLTP) of range in only five minutes (under optimum conditions). A charging range of 241-256 miles (model range) is excellent. Also, the Taycan features Porsche Active Aerodynamics and the latest performance braking technologies.
The new Taycan has many fantastic features, so we're going to highlight some of our favourite ones. Firstly, the assistance systems on this car are excellent. This includes Active Lane Keep & Traffic Jam Assist, as well as Lane Change Assist & Night Vision Assist. In addition, Porsche Connect enables an array of innovative services to enhance your driving experience. Porsche Voice Pilot is available and Apple Music is built-in to enable you to stream your music. Another useful feature is the Charging Planner which helps to provide an efficient journey and calculates optimal routes for you.
The main rival currently for the Taycan is the Tesla Model S which is already proving successful in the EV market. But which car would you prefer? Do you think the Porsche Taycan sounds like your ideal car? If it does, call us today for more information about leasing this car!
