It has been revealed that Ford’s new all-electric E-Transit van will be joining the EV market in Europe in Spring 2022. This comes as the demand for both vans and low emission vehicles increases. That said, we expect the Ford E-Transit to be strong competition for other electric vans on the growing EV market, including the Peugeot e-Expert, Vauxhall Vivaro-e and Citroen e-Dispatch.
Range & Charging
This EV version of a best-selling van is estimated to offer a range of up to 217 miles (WLTP) between charges. DC fast charging via a 115kW charger means the new E-Transit can be charged from 15% to 80% capacity in around 34 minutes. Meanwhile an on-board charger is capable of slower charging in just over eight hours. Thousands of public charging stations are now available via the FordPass Charging Network which can easily be located using the FordPass App. Similarly, drivers could visit www.zap-map.com to locate and navigate to available charging stations across the UK. Also, there’s a useful EV route planner so you can plan suitable charge stops for your journey before setting off.
The new E-Transit has many fantastic features, so we're going to highlight some of our favourite ones. Firstly, the FordPass Connect modem is a great feature which comes as standard. Other key features include a 12 inch touchscreen, enhanced voice recognition and cloud-based navigation. Also, it will have the latest safety systems available such as pre-collision assistance, an intelligent speed limiter and lane-changing assistance, just to mention a few. Furthermore, the new Ford E-Transit comes with a 67kWh battery which has an eight-year/100,000-mile warranty for peace of mind.
Size & Payload
Like the rear-wheel-drive diesel version of the Transit, The E-Transit has just over 15 cubic metres of load space. Also, The E-Transit will be available in 25 different configurations including various weights, sizes and body variants. This is excellent as it will enable you to choose the ideal sized van for you and your requirements. The panel van will have a payload of up to 1616kg, meanwhile the chassis cab payload will be up to 1967kg.
